Can I trust You?...

Again what a day in the Ngorongoro Crater.. we have just finished the descend when one of the guests spotted a beautiful male lion on the horizon that we couldn’t get a photo of..because the sun was just rising behind him, however we did get the photo of what it was staring at,… the “zebras” we watched it staring at the Zebras until eventually it gave up and left… We were there for maybe half an hour..and neither the zebras nor the Lion took an eye off from the direction it was looking… Well eventually one gave up.. The male lion.. it left the scene disappearing into the valley perhaps for a day rest as the sun was already beginning to bake the crater…

Two zebras stand close in the African savanna, showcasing their distinct black and white stripes.

When we were still amazed and figuring out what was happening we discovered something… The Zebras had not been just standing aimlessly… By the way they were standing facing opposite direction with their heads rested on each others back… This we realized they were not only resting but watching each others back for safety, had anything surprised them from either direction then it wouldn’t come unnoticed… And then I thought for a minute.. For this strategy to work they both had to FULLY TRUST each other so much for both their lives depended on each other…and truly it had paid off. The lion had been on one of his trials for breakfast but with the strategy employed and well executed with patience, the Zebras got off on his menu list.

Then we thought, Our lives are the same.. we’ve got lots of challenges and problems facing us today because one, we have embraced more individualities than communities,, second we have invested in friendships that can’t be trusted and so they don’t amount to anything in our lives..could we and our friends be trusted…. Not just trusted but count each other in all situations.. we have all heard those phrases like…*together as one*…..”go alone go fast..go together go far” in our swahili tradition..there is one I like the most “one finger can’t kill a tick” ..its true… I solemnly believe we could be more productive, more secured and above all have more life if we can embrace the fact that we are all needy to each other.. there is always something we could offer to others… by the way what goes around always comes around..

Together we can fight loneliness, anxieties, disease, poverty, insecurities just to mention a few.. these are challenges that are constantly stalking our private lives like that Male lion.. and if we can’t work together as a team and be there for each other we won’t survive the fight.. let resolve today to be the reason someone else smiles…simply because they can trust us again and count on You and Me.. Count on me..
Finally we continued with our crater game drive to the next wild lesson..

See you in the coming wild experience..
