The whole experience was simple unforgettable from the moment we arrived at Alama Homestay. There was such a genuine warmth in the welcome, and it immediately felt like we were being invited into something real, not just passing through as tourists. The market visit and cooking experience with the family was one of the most special parts of the trip. It was personal, relaxed and full of connection. It gave us a deeper appreciation for the people, food and everyday life behind the places we were visiting. The safari itself was incredible. We saw lions, elephants and other of the big 5 up close, but what made it even more meaningful was the way our guide, Godson, approached every sighting. He was patient, respectful and deeply knowledgeable. He explained animal behaviour and the natural environment in a way that helped us understand what we were seeing, not just look at it. Nothing felt rushed or forced. The lodges and camps were comfortable and full of atmosphere, and all the small details made a big difference — cold drinks in the car, flexibility when plans shifted, and the smooth organisation throughout the journey. It was the kind of trip that stays with you. Beautiful, grounding, exciting and deeply moving. We left feeling grateful, connected and completely in awe of Tanzania.

Cannot say enough good things about our time with Alama. Godson, the owner, is an incredible guide, so knowledgeable and knows just where to find the best animals. He is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. We were laughing nonstop. The market tour and cooking lesson at his home with his wonderful family was the icing on the cake. This was an unforgettable experience for my family - I’d give it six stars if I could.

Godson was an absolutely fantastic guide on our safari. His deep knowledge of the wildlife, flora and fauna and the country were awesome. He really went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience and always seemed to know where the wildlife would be, often predicting where they would move to and then taking us to areas where we were often alone to enjoy the animals. His knowledge and enthusiasm really were fantastic. He also provided humour and fun, which really made us laugh. Cannot recommend him enough!

Unvergessliche Safari in Tansania – mit unserem Guide Godson Unsere Safari durch Tansania war eines der beeindruckendsten Naturerlebnisse unseres Lebens. Unsere Route führte uns durch den Tarangire Nationalpark, den Ngorongoro-Krater sowie durch die zentrale und nördliche Serengeti. Jeden Tag waren wir vom Sonnenaufgang bis zum Sonnenuntergang unterwegs – und dank Godson konnten wir eine unglaubliche Vielfalt an Tieren erleben. Wir haben tatsächlich alle Tiere gesehen, von denen man bei einer Safari träumt. Dazu gehörten unter anderem Geparden, Leoparden, Löwen, Elefanten und viele weitere Tiere der Big Five, außerdem große Herden von Gnus und Zebras, Hyänen, Giraffen, Flusspferde, Krokodile, Warzenschweine, Impalas und Gazellen. Auch die Vogelwelt war beeindruckend: Strauße, Flamingos und Adler konnten wir aus nächster Nähe beobachten. Ein absolutes Highlight war für uns die Great Migration. Wir waren im September mitten im Geschehen, und es war ein überwältigender Anblick: Millionen von Gnus und Zebras ziehen durch die Serengeti. Dank Godson hatten wir dabei oft die besten Plätze, um dieses unglaubliche Naturschauspiel zu beobachten. Diese Momente waren für uns ein Riesen- und unvergessliches Erlebnis. Was uns besonders fasziniert hat, war Godsons außergewöhnliches Können. Godson hat Safari studiert, und das merkt man sofort. Während er das Fahrzeug sicher durch die Landschaft steuerte, konnte er gleichzeitig die Spuren der Tiere lesen, kleinste Bewegungen in der Ferne erkennen und uns mit fundierten Kenntnissen über alle Tiere vertraut machen. Oft entdeckte er Tiere in weiter Entfernung, während wir noch etwas ratlos in der Gegend herumgeschaut haben – das war wirklich beeindruckend. Seine Fähigkeit, die Natur zu lesen, war faszinierend. Er konnte sogar die Laute vieler Tiere nachmachen, was die Beobachtungen noch intensiver machte. Dank seiner Erfahrung sind wir den Tieren sehr nahe gekommen, ohne sie zu stören. Diese Begegnungen waren für uns jedes Mal atemberaubend. Doch Godson war für uns nicht nur der beste Guide, sondern im Laufe der Reise auch zu einem guten Freund geworden. Er ist freundlich, herzlich und voller Leidenschaft für das, was er tut. Man merkt sofort, dass er seinen Beruf nicht einfach nur ausübt – es ist seine Berufung, ein Guide zu sein.
